Oluwaseun Adebayo has been remanded at the Sagamu Correctional Centre following allegations of assaulting and forcibly removing the dreadlocks of Esther Odusanya. The incident took place at Awosanya Street, opposite Iyaloja House, Ajaka, Sagamu.
Adebayo appeared before Senior Magistrate Omolara Osanyin in a Sagamu Magistrate’s Court, facing three counts related to assault and causing bodily harm.
On the specified date, Adebayo reportedly physically attacked Esther, inflicting harm and causing discomfort by forcefully pulling off her dreadlocks. The charges read:
1. Adebayo Oluwaseun, on August 26, 2023, around 11:05 am at Awosanya Street, opposite Iyaloja House, Ajaka, Sagamu, unlawfully assaulted Odusanya Olaoluwa Esther, causing bodily harm, thereby committing an offense punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code of Ogun State, Nigeria 2006.
2. Adebayo Oluwaseun, on the same date, time, and place, unlawfully assaulted Odusanya Olaoluwa Esther by beating her with fist blows all over her body, thereby committing an offense punishable under Section 360 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun State, Nigeria 2006.
3. Adebayo Oluwaseun, on the same date, time, and place, unlawfully wounded and assaulted Odusanya Olaoluwa Esther by forcibly removing her dreadlocks, causing bodily discomfort, thereby committing an offense punishable under Section 338 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun State, Nigeria 2006.
Adebayo pleaded not guilty to the charges, prompting Magistrate Osanyin to order his remand while granting him bail of N200,000.
The case is scheduled for further proceedings on October 27, 2023.
