UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) announced on Thursday that the Euro 2024 qualifier match between Kosovo and Israel, which was scheduled for the upcoming Sunday, has been postponed. The reason for the postponement is the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza.
UEFA released a statement saying, “Israeli authorities currently do not allow their national team to travel abroad.” They added that a new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
This decision comes after UEFA had previously postponed all matches scheduled in Israel “in the next couple of weeks” on the day following the surprise offensive initiated by Hamas.
The governing body of European football has also rescheduled Israel’s match against Switzerland, originally set for the upcoming Thursday, to Wednesday, November 15, with the venue yet to be determined. Additionally, Israel’s European Under-21 Championship matches and an Under-17 mini-tournament in which Israel was due to participate have also been postponed.
